VoIP Phone Systems in Canterbury
The analogue network switches off on 31 January 2027. We move Canterbury businesses to modern cloud phones that follow their team, on a line we check first.
Your office phone line is living on borrowed time
The UK's analogue phone network (PSTN) is being switched off, with the deadline set for January 2027, and with it go traditional lines, ISDN and everything that plugs into them. Every Canterbury business still on old lines needs a plan.
The upgrade is genuinely good news: cloud VoIP follows your team anywhere and gives a small business the call handling of a much larger one, with menus, queues, voicemail-to-email and numbers that ring wherever you are.
What our Canterbury VoIP service includes:
Contractual response times, not averages: 15 minutes for critical issues, 30 minutes for high priority, 2 hours for medium and 4 hours for low, backed by service credits if we miss them.
- Number porting keep your existing Canterbury numbers: callers notice nothing
- Full setup and installation handsets, mobile apps and softphones, configured locally
- Call menus, queues and routing so calls always reach the right person
- Teams integration make and take calls inside Microsoft Teams if you prefer
- Connectivity checked first VoIP is only as good as the line it runs on: we handle both
- Ongoing local support adds, moves and changes handled by phone, not raised as a change request
Phones and the line they run on, from one local partner
Most VoIP problems are actually broadband problems. Because we manage connectivity as well as telephony, we make sure the underlying line is up to the job before a single handset ships, and there's one number to call (ours) if anything ever misbehaves.
We've moved Canterbury offices, multi-site hospitality groups and professional firms onto cloud phones. The first thing we do is add up what they are actually paying across every invoice, because telecoms spend is rarely in one place.
Already have someone looking after your IT in Canterbury?
An in-house IT person
We work alongside them rather than replacing them: taking the helpdesk queue, the patching schedule and the out-of-hours cover off their plate, so they can spend their time on the projects that actually need someone who knows your business. Plenty of our clients run it this way.
An existing IT provider
If it's not working the way you'd like, we manage the switch: collecting documentation, credentials and licences from your outgoing provider, so your team isn't the one chasing them. See how switching provider actually works.
“We used to lose calls between branches and never really know it. Now a vendor rings one number, someone picks up, and by the time they answer the property is already on screen in front of them.”
Managing Director, Kent estate agency
We hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 27001 ourselves, alongside Cyber Essentials Plus: the standards we would expect of anyone touching a client's data, applied to our own.
Frequently asked questions
Yes: your existing numbers are ported to the new system, so nothing changes for your customers. We manage the whole porting process.
Can we keep our existing phone numbers?
Yes: your existing numbers are ported to the new system, so nothing changes for your customers. We manage the whole porting process.
What happens when the PSTN is switched off?
Traditional analogue and ISDN lines stop working: the deadline is January 2027. Anything relying on them (phones, some alarms and payment lines) needs a digital replacement. Moving early means choosing calmly instead of scrambling.
Will VoIP work with our internet connection?
We check before we sell you anything. If your current line can't carry good call quality, we'll tell you, and fix the connectivity first, usually as part of the same project.
Is VoIP cheaper than our current phone system?
Often, particularly against ISDN line rental and per-minute call charges, but we would rather work it out than promise it. Telephony costs are usually spread across a service invoice, line rental, call charges and sometimes a separate finance agreement for the handsets. Send us the lot and we will add it up and tell you honestly, including if you are already on a good deal.
